SuarezDanceTheater creates feminist dance-theater. We collaboratively examine the unexpected – we create in unexpected places with unexpected people about unexpected subjects. The Company is dedicated to publicly engage communities with their work creating participatory experiences all over Los Angeles and beyond.

SuarezDanceTheater is thrilled to announce that we have been awarded the City of Santa Monica’s 2016-17 Community Access & Participation grant to support the creation of Family Dinner – a project that centers around creating community, face-to-face discussion, dancing and food. We are co-hosting a series of potlucks to kick off our process. Please go here for more information.

In more great news, Christine is a 2017 recipient of a grant from the Network Ensemble Theaters’ Travel and Exchange (NET/TEN) supported by lead funding from the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation. This grant will support her continued collaboration with Atlanta-based choreographer Lori Teague to further develop Rule of Thumb.
