In 2014 Christine and dance educator Sarah Wilbur received an Artist in Residence Grant from the City of Los Angeles Department of Cultural Affairs to lead a series of workshops at the West Los Angeles VA Medical Center. Dance for Veterans: Dance Day was the culmination of the workshops. On November 3, 2014, dance educators, veterans, psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers and civilians joined together for this free experiential public event. All had the opportunity to learn about the program, to meet veterans who will share highlights from the weekly dance classes, and to participate creatively and physically. This event brought more visibility to the Dance for Veterans Program that Christine and Sarah co-created which is now in its fourth year of providing a movement-based intervention to veterans all over Greater Los Angeles.

In 2016 Christine was fortunate to receive the Artist in Residence grant again to offer veteran workshops at the VA Los Angeles Ambulatory Care Center in downtown Los Angeles. Culminating the workshops, they offered a free experiential public event to celebrate Veterans Day. Veterans from the workshops co-led this community offering of their dance practice.
